An engineered surface manufactured without crystalline silica. It gives the consistency, hardness, and low maintenance of engineered stone in marble and calacatta looks, and it can be fabricated and installed under Australia's post-2024 engineered stone rules.
Worth knowing
Before you specify it.
- Pattern is repeatable by design, so it reads more uniform than natural stone.
- Not intended for external use in direct sun unless the manufacturer rates it for it.
- Hot pans should still go on a trivet.
Engineered slabs are manufactured to a consistent pattern, with slight variation between production batches. Where a project needs more than one slab, we recommend selecting them together so the run matches.
Care and maintenance
Looking after silica free.
- Clean with warm soapy water or a non-abrasive surface spray.
- No sealing required.
- Avoid abrasive pads, oven cleaners, and strong solvents.
- Use trivets for hot cookware and boards for cutting.
